Lady Hermon MP

In her address at the AGM, Lady Hermon MP said.

"May I take this opportunity to warmly commend and thank those office
bearers who presented their reports on the choir activities during the past
Once again the choir has contributed an enormous amount of money through
their charitable fundraising during the year. In addition I note with admiration
the generosity of choir members who contributed to Donaghadee Rotary’s
Shelterbox Appeal at Christmas.

There has been no greater ambassador for Donaghadee and Northern Ireland
than this wonderful choir, and I wish to to repeat my pride and honour to be its

At the AGM in 2017 Ivan reported.

“Last season was a particularly successful one for the choir. There were many
memorable and successful engagements and it would be unfair to single out
any in particular. However, I must pay tribute to the choir and to the eight
contributing artistes (all of whom gave their services freely) for the
magnificent Gala Concert in the Ulster Hall in memory of Robert Wilson MBE. It
will stay long in the memory of those who participated that night.

I must also mention the wonderful choir trips to Chatel-Guyon in the Auvergne,
France last October, and our visit in May to South Yorkshire to see our friends
in Barnburgh Village Singers and Thurnscoe Harmonic Male Voice Choir. As
always choir trips are an absolute success, and these two proved that the
comradeship and enjoyment, allied to singing at a few concerts, are something
to experience.

I wish to pay tribute to all those who work away behind the scenes to ensure
that the future of Donaghadee Male Voice Choir is secure, and I look forward
with anticipation and excitement to the in-coming season”
